Spring 2025 Session

Registration for the Spring session of our Extracurricular Activities, scheduled to run for 6 weeks, from April 22nd to May 29th (Tuesdays to Thursdays from 3:50pm to 4:50pm), will open on Tuesday April 8th at 6pm. Registration will close on April 13th at 11:59pm.

Unleash your child’s creativity with our exciting painting class program designed just for kids! In our engaging sessions, young artists will explore a variety of skills and techniques, including color mixing, brush handling, and the fundamentals of composition. They’ll learn about different painting styles such as watercolor, acrylics, and tempera, while also developing their understanding of light, shadow, and texture. Our classes encourage self-expression and boost confidence, ensuring every child discovers the joy of painting.

Do you love making patterns, drawing pictures, or bringing images to life in colour? Do you enjoy building and creating with LEGO? Then this program is for you! In this hands-on creative experience, you’ll explore the world of Mosaic Art, using 1×1 LEGO bricks to design stunning images. But the fun doesn’t stop there! In LEGO Creative Mosaic, you’ll bring scenes to life by constructing towers, roads, mazes, and models inspired by your favorite movies and cartoons. With themes like Minecraft, LEGO Friends, Game ON, and more, there’s always something new to build!

Refreshed and revised, the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting deepens the responsibility older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum also provides improved learning when it comes to giving appropriate care in the event of an emergency.

Explore the artistic form of comic book design as you learn to create your personalized edition. Create your own characters, develop story lines, and incorporate pictures of actual sets, all designed with Lego Bricks! After creating various scenes, children will snap pictures and upload them, utilizing a software program to create their very own, one-of-a-kind comic book.

Wednesdays

This activity consists of making cool things using the new technology of 3D pens. Students will learn how to use the 3D pens to create 2 and 3 dimensional creations based on their imagination. Classes start with the basic drawings then advance to 3D art creations. Note that materials will be supplied. All crafts are safe and fully supervised. Your child will be thrilled to bring their creations to life.

Join us as we create stunning projects to celebrate the arrival of spring! Children will decorate a gorgeous garden with a real tropical plant; make a marshmallow pop bouquet, decorate a vase and fill it with essential oil bath salts, make decorative soap with dried flowers, design original shell mini bowls using decoupage, create a clay botanical-inspired trinket plate and pendant, and so much more!

Woodburning classes are a fun way for kids to put their creative ideas on wood, using basic burning/shading techniques. Students will create various types of images, lettering, and work on a project to bring home, such as coasters, wood chimes, name plates and more! These classes involve using soldering pens, are fully supervised, and protective equipment will always be used.

Thursdays

This class offers an exciting and hands-on experience for children to explore the fascinating world of slime-making. They will experiment with various ingredients to concoct their own unique slime creations, including fluffy cloud slime, a glittery bouncy ball, galaxy slime, edible goo, and more! They will also learn about the concepts of viscosity, polymerization, and chemical reactions.

Children delve into the delightful world of cake decorating using yummy sugars, colourful frosting, sprinkles, glitter and more! Young bakers will learn basic cake decorating techniques using buttercream, fondant, and royal icing. They will also make and decorate delicious cupcakes, cookies, donuts, and more! This class is not to be missed! No nuts or pork.

STEM helps children learn key skills. The program provides learning environments that help develop children’s curiosity and critical thinking skills. The program offers children the opportunity to build a min. of 3 creative projects (Course time permitting), that involve 4 areas of STEM. We make it fun to learn and explore areas of solar power, wind power, electricity, and more.
  • Registration only on Amilia (no paper or email requests will be accepted).
  • ECA activities are open to students in Grades 1 to 6. Please ensure that you register for the ECA that corresponds to the grade level of your child(ren) and that your child’s grade is indicated correctly on Amilia.
  • All details related to the schedule and types of activities offered are also available on Amilia.
  • ECA activities are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If there are insufficient registrations for a particular activity, it will be cancelled. We will advise you and provide a refund.

  • As this is a school fundraiser, no changes or refunds will be provided after registration is completed, nor for any missed classes. Therefore, please ensure you can commit to the dates and times before registering.

  • All activities run from 3:50pm to 4:50pm and parents are to pick up their children at 4:50pm outside the schoolyard on Nantel Street, unless they are registered for BASE.

  • Students enrolled in the BASE program will go to their BASE classrooms following their activity.

  • Please wait until 5:00pm before picking up your child from BASE.

  • Remember to notify the office if your child will be absent from the activity either by phone or via the Mozaik Parent Portal.
